Update: It’s now rolling out…

Android 15 is officially out today as announced by Google Germany. The press release briefly appeared on the website, which is pulled immediately. Well, the development confirms the most awaited update is available today.

This is a clear confirmation of the Android 15 release today for eligible Pixel devices, however, the update isn’t on Pixel smartphones yet. Hopefully, it will arrive on those devices in the next few hours.

Android 15 will come with the October Pixel Feature Drop, which means there may be some new features that weren’t in the beta version. The Pixel smartwatches will also get some updates today.

The Android 15 update for Pixel devices brings several important fixes and improvements. It addresses an issue that caused devices to restart unexpectedly, enhancing battery life and charging performance. Face unlocking is now more reliable, and connecting to certain Bluetooth devices has become easier. Camera performance has also been improved.

Additionally, users will no longer see gray shadows on the display, and overall display reliability has been enhanced. Apps can access media files without issues, and the system’s overall performance has been improved. Network connections for calls and data are more reliable now.

Ultimately, the update fixes issues with icon displays, animations for Google Assistant on the lock screen, and button responsiveness, leading to smoother transitions throughout the user interface.

Things to do before and after installing Android 15 update on Pixels

Based on previous Android releases, the official announcement and update should happen around 10 a.m. PT, with factory images for download available at the same time.

If your Pixel is already on the Android 15 QPR1 beta, you won’t be able to install the stable version today without leaving the beta program, which will erase all your data.
