Google is set to broaden the availability of its Circle to Search feature next month (revealed by Mishaal Rahman), bringing it to more Android phones beyond just Pixel and Samsung devices.
Currently, Circle to Search, which lets users quickly search for information by circling an item on their screen, has been exclusive to these brands since it was introduced in January. Many manufacturers like Xiaomi, OnePlus, and OPPO are expected to bring this assistive feature to their devices.
This expansion means that users of other Android phones, such as the TECNO Phantom V Fold 2, will soon be able to enjoy this handy feature. TECNO has stated that their latest phone model will receive Circle to Search in October, a move that aligns with Google’s plans to make the feature more widely accessible on Android.
At Google’s I/O event earlier this year, the company set an ambitious goal to have Circle to Search available on 200 million devices by the end of 2024. By making the feature available on a broader range of devices, Google aims to reach this target more effectively.
For users, this means enhanced functionality and convenience across more devices, allowing anyone with compatible Android phones to easily search for information by simply circling text or images on their screens.
As this feature rolls out, it’s expected to become a popular tool for simplifying searches and improving user experience.
