After revealing the first Galaxy S25 Ultra renders earlier this week, we’re now getting a look at the Galaxy S25.
The Galaxy S25 will feature a 6.17-inch display, though it will probably be marketed as a 6.2-inch screen, similar to the current Galaxy S24. The new model will be a bit smaller than the S24, measuring approximately 146.9 x 70.4 x 7.2mm compared to the S24’s 147 x 70.6 x 7.6mm.
In terms of design, the Galaxy S25 isn’t straying far from its predecessor, Galaxy S24. The cameras will now feature rings, similar to those seen in the Galaxy S25 Ultra renders. Additionally, the bezels are expected to be slightly thinner, while the flat sides will remain unchanged for another year.
There’s been some confusion about what chip Samsung will use in the Galaxy S25. Some reports suggest Samsung will stick with an Exynos chipset worldwide, while others believe the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be used globally.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is expected to be unveiled next month and looks promising based on leaked benchmarks, even outpacing Apple’s new A18 Pro in early tests. It’s also rumored to have impressive clock speeds, with a peak of 4.32GHz.
For memory, the Galaxy S25 is expected to offer up to 12GB of RAM and start with 128GB of storage. The battery will likely stay the same as the previous model, at 4,000mAh.
The design of the Galaxy S25 won’t change much from its predecessor. It will have camera rings and slightly thinner bezels but will keep the flat sides that have become popular with many smartphone makers. For example, the recent Google Pixel 9 also features flat sides.
Samsung is anticipated to announce the Galaxy S25 in early January 2025. The company has been unveiling its Galaxy S series phones earlier each year: the S22 on February 9, the S23 on February 1, and the S24 on January 17.
It’s expected that the Galaxy S25 will be revealed around the week of January 13, just after CES, which runs from January 7 to January 10.
