With the release of Google‘s Android 15 QPR1 Beta 2, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold users can now join the Android Beta Program. Initially, only the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL were part of the beta program, receiving Android 15 Beta 4.2 updates.
Now, the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold are eligible for the beta test too. To join the program, users can simply visit google.com/android/beta and click “Opt in” for a straightforward enrollment.
This is easier than manually sideloading the Android 15 QPR1 OTA images. Once enrolled, users can start the installation by going to Settings > System > Software updates > System updates on their devices.

Android 15 QPR1, scheduled for a full release in December, brings several new features, including a redesigned Settings app, new screen recording options, Cast chips in the status bar, and a battery optimization setting that limits charging to 80%. There’s also a new keyboard switcher key and updated animations for Quick Settings Tiles.
While mostly stable, the beta version has some bugs. For example, lockscreen shortcuts may not appear until you adjust them in Wallpaper & style, and you might need to force stop the app from App info to fix this.
Additionally, the new desktop windowing feature for the Pixel Tablet doesn’t seem to apply to the original Pixel Fold or the Pixel 9 Pro Fold in this beta version.
