Android enthusiasts, especially Xiaomi/POCO fans, are excited about Android 15. While Google hasn’t officially launched the stable version yet, they did release the source code of the new OS. Right now, the Android 15 QRP1 beta is available on Pixel devices. As usual, the official launch is expected to happen next month, in October.
Xiaomi has already begun testing Android 15 on some of its top devices. They’re currently running the beta on the Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 13T series, and the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4. Once Google officially releases Android 15, Xiaomi will likely update its devices with the new version so users can enjoy the latest features.
Xiaomi might also release Android 15 alongside its new HyperOS 2.0, which is also set to be revealed in October 2024. Xiaomi has done this before; they delayed updates like MIUI 14 based on Android 14 to launch newer interface versions. It’s possible they’ll do the same with Android 15 and HyperOS 2.0, combining the new Android version with a fresh interface.
This would be a smart move, as it would allow Xiaomi to update both the operating system and the user interface at the same time. If this happens, users can expect a major update that brings the latest Android version along with an upgraded user experience.
While we don’t know the exact date, it looks like Android 15 could start rolling out to Xiaomi/POCO devices in October or November 2024, aligning with the release of HyperOS 2.0. Keep an eye out for updates as Xiaomi prepares to launch this new version for its flagship devices.
