Xiaomi is set to enhance its user experience with the upcoming HyperOS 2.0 update, featuring a new recent apps menu called “Pile Up.” This change is notable because it introduces a sleek, card-stacked view of recently used apps, similar to iOS.
Previously, Android’s recent apps menu was relocated to the launcher, a feature Xiaomi adopted from Google in Android 9. While MIUI 10 incorporated this feature, it lacked the visual appeal and intuitive design many users desired.
The “Pile Up” menu in HyperOS 2.0 aims to address these concerns by providing a more aesthetically pleasing and functional interface. It allows users to quickly switch between apps in a more organized and visually appealing manner.
Xiaomi has recently launched a beta program for HyperOS 2.0, giving a select group of users early access to this feature. Early reports suggest that “Pile Up” is fast and user-friendly.
For those not in the beta program, the update, including the new menu, is expected to be rolled out to all users in October.
You can now download the new beta version of the Xiaomi HyperOS Launcher using the HyperOS Downloader app. Here’s how to update:
