The Google Pixel has long been celebrated as one of the best smartphones on the market, packed with cutting-edge technology and features that consistently set it apart from other Android devices. As the first to receive new and advanced features, Pixel users often enjoy an exclusive look at the latest innovations from Google.

However, there are still some handy Android features that haven’t made their way to Pixel smartphones yet, which could significantly improve the user experience. Here are a few features we’d love to see on Pixel devices:

1. Separate Internet and Wi-Fi Toggles

One of the changes introduced with Android 12 was the combined Internet and Wi-Fi toggle in the notification panel. While this may streamline access, many users miss the convenience of having separate toggles for easier management.

Recently, leaked images of Android 16’s notification panel showed no sign of a return to this feature. A redesigned notification panel that allows users to toggle Internet and Wi-Fi separately would enhance the functionality and ease of use, making it simpler to manage connectivity options.

2. Double Tap to Turn Off Screen

The ability to double-tap the screen to turn it off is a feature found on many Android devices but is surprisingly absent from the Pixel lineup. For me with Pixel 7 Pro, turning off the screen requires pressing the power button each time.

This extra step can be cumbersome, especially when you want to quickly lock your phone. Introducing this feature would add convenience and streamline the way we interact with our devices.

3. Vibration When Call Is Picked Up

A feature that many users find helpful is receiving a vibration response when a call is answered. Through this feature, you can immediately know when the person picked up a call, without having to hold the phone near your ear the whole time.

On Pixel phones, this feature is also missing, making it a little less user-friendly. Adding this functionality would enhance the call experience, making it more intuitive and seamless.

4. Customizable Google Widget

The permanent Google widget at the bottom of the Pixel home screen is a nice touch, but it lacks customization options. Users should have the ability to personalize their home screens to better fit their preferences. Whether it’s adjusting the size or choosing different functions for the widget, customization would allow users to create a more tailored experience.
