Here’s Your First Look at Nothing OS 3.0 Powered by Android 15

Nothing is about to launch its latest operating system, Nothing OS 3.0, based on Android 15. Tipster Mishaal Rahman gave us an early look at the beta version of the Nothing Phone (2a), revealing several exciting updates. The Nothing OS 3.0 brings a fresh design and practical features, enhancing the user experience significantly.



During a live stream, Carl announced the timeline for upcoming updates. The open beta for Nothing OS 3.0 is scheduled to start this October (available for 2a), allowing users to test new features ahead of the official launch. Following the beta phase, the public release is expected to take place in December, bringing the latest enhancements to all Nothing Phone users.

Redesigned Notifications and Quick Settings:

One of the first things you’ll notice is a new look for notifications and Quick Settings. The design has shifted away from the dark, basic style to a more colorful and personal touch. Quick Settings tiles are now resizable, allowing you to fit up to eight tiles in the dropdown menu. The ringer and Bluetooth tiles have expanded features, making them more useful.

The Settings app has been reorganized for better clarity, with entries grouped into distinct sections.

A new “Special features” page collects tools like gestures and game modes, and a “Tips & Feedback” app offers help on using new features.

Lock screen customization has been revamped, allowing for a dynamic preview of added widgets.

You can also choose from five new clock styles, making it easier to personalize your lock screen.

The widget picker now has two pages: one for Nothing’s widgets and another for others.
