Android 15 Beta 4.2 is out for Pixel 9 series, QPR1 Beta 1 also begins!

Google is now rolling out Android 15 QPR1 Beta 1 to Pixel devices. This update, which was teased last week, comes ahead of the full Android 15 release.

The new QPR1 Beta 1 (AP41.240726.009) with the August 2024 security patch is available for Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7, 7 Pro, 7a, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, and the Android Emulator.

Android 15 QPR1 is set to be officially released in December as part of Pixel’s Feature Drop, which will introduce a variety of new features for your Pixel smartphones and tablets.

Additionally, the Pixel 9 series users are getting Android 15 Beta 4.2, which is the last update before the official release. The Android 15 is expected to be available for all supported devices soon.

QPR Beta:

Quarterly Platform Releases (QPRs) offer more substantial changes compared to the usual monthly updates. They are designed for bigger UI improvements and new features that don’t need to wait for the next major Android release.

QPRs are generally stable and are available as betas rather than developer previews. Android 15 QPR1 is set to launch officially in December.

If you’re already in the Android Beta Program, you’ll receive QPR1 Beta 1 automatically. If you want to wait for the final stable Android 15 release, you should opt out of the beta program at google.com/android/beta. This will trigger a downgrade update to Android 14, which you should ignore until the stable Android 15 release is announced.

For feedback or issues, you can use the Android Beta Feedback app available on your Pixel device, or join the Android Beta community on Reddit.
