Samsung’s release of the One UI 7.0 Beta update has been delayed by several weeks. Originally expected by the end of July, the update still hasn’t arrived, but signs are pointing to its imminent release.
According to SamMobile, the company is now moving the testing phase forward, which suggests that the Beta might be just around the corner.
Currently, the One UI 7.0 Beta is being tested by Samsung’s local branches in various countries, such as Samsung India and Samsung UK. This usually happens when Samsung is close to launching a new update.
While the Beta has been tested in several major markets like China, Germany, India, Poland, South Korea, the UK, and the USA, it’s now also being tried out in additional countries where it usually doesn’t go through Beta testing.
Part of the delay was due to Samsung’s focus on rolling out the One UI 6.1.1 update, which added many new Galaxy AI features and was a larger update than usual, especially since it was the first time it was released for slab-style phones. Another reason for the delay is said to be issues with Google, which also impacted the timing.

So, what can you expect from One UI 7.0?
The new update is set to bring a range of improvements. Users will see smoother animations and transitions, a redesigned Quick Panel layout with a separate screen for notifications, and a new look for the camera app that’s easier to use with one hand. There will also be updated icons for some of Samsung’s stock apps.
One UI 7.0 is expected to include several fresh features: a new charging animation, support for SMS over 5G, a new unlocking animation, new widgets for both the home and lock screens, and larger folders on the home screen.
Additionally, the update will bring a new battery icon, better background blur, adjustable app icon sizes, and a new pill-shaped UI element for managing ongoing tasks.
Samsung is putting a lot of effort into making the software stable and reliable. TM Roh, the head of Samsung MX, is personally overseeing the development, which is likely why the release of the Beta has been postponed—to ensure a more polished experience for users.
