We are here just for you, and we want seamless Android 15 installation on your Pixel.

There are buzzes that Android 15 will be released for Google Pixel devices on October 15, which is tomorrow. Users are excited to see the new features and improvements it will bring.

However, there were issues with the Wear OS 5 update for Pixel Watch users, causing some watches to get stuck. Because of this, Google paused the Wear OS 5 rollout until the problems are fixed and the update resuming later this year.

So, I’ve created a post called “Things to do before and after installing Android 15 update on Pixels” to help ensure a seamless installation. While I can’t certify that the OS update will be completely bug-free, following these steps will help reduce the chances of running into issues during your update.

By implementing these things, you can usually avoid common problems like slow performance, battery issues, random reboots, and strange app behavior.

1. Back up your data:

Always make backups! The more, the better. Back up often and in different places for safety. Use a cloud service and copy files to your computer with a USB, email yourself important stuff, or make a solid backup.

2. Charge your battery:

Make sure your Android has enough battery before updating. It’s best to have it charged to at least 70 or 80 percent to avoid running out of power during the update.

3. Take some last-minute screenshots:

Before you update, take some screenshots of your home screens and email them to yourself. If you use a different launcher, you can save your settings, but stock launchers don’t let you do that. The screenshots will help you remember how to set up your phone later. The update won’t reset your phone, but the screenshots will be useful for the next step.

4. Wipe cache and factory reset:

Some people say you don’t need to factory reset your Android after an update, and that can be true. But at the very least, you should clear the system cache after the update. This helps fix any early battery drain or performance problems.

If you do a factory reset and start fresh, you’re less likely to face issues that some users have after an update.

5. Other things:

  • If you’re installing a new Android OS update on your primary phone, take some time to read user reviews before proceeding. Then you can install it and enjoy!
  • Check sufficient storage space on your device.
  • Review system requirements.
  • Read release notes.
  • Join Pixel’s community (official/subreddits) and group for news and reviews.

We hope the Android 15 update installs smoothly on all Pixel devices without any issues.
